It is shaving sharp from the factory,and I easily keep a shaving sharp edge on it. It's a copy of the viet nam hawk sort of,and the viet nam hawk was a copy of Rogers Rangers Hawk..for the money,this is hard to beat. In my opinion it should be included in our list of gear.
