It was a GREAT GOTT, and I still have not found a way to put appreciation into words to everyone that donated money for the rifles, donated a rife, and other gear, brought giant tarps and worked on camp to get things set up, put up sun showers, gathered firewood and shared resources, food, gear, and everything else. And the fact that 95% of the people drove or flew hundreds of miles to get there...(or thousands)...what can I say? Thank you. I will still compile a list of donations so that everyone can get the proper recognition for what they have given or done, concerning this GOTT.
We missed everyone that couldn't come, and were a bit puzzled by those that dropped out without any notice, the "no shows" who said they'd be there, (and I don't mean people who gave notice that they could not make it) but most of all we missed NWF whom we really would have liked to have met, and thanked personally for this excellent forum. And of course Skully himself was a no-show. What a bonehead.
We were amazed by Grace, (now known as "Amazing Grace", or "Alpha Golf") what a First Class Lady, from the other side of the world, who came to GOTT. Besides her "Grace" and dignity, she also gave us 500 "Uncle Sam wants you for KISSATA" flyers, and you would not believe the lifetime membership certificates she made for us, and presented to us. (Someone post a pic of the certificates!) And as if that were not more than enough, the Lady went on the Rain Patrol (henceforth known as operation "soggy-dog") into enemy territory with us! Wow.
Last but not least, once AGAIN, with LEO knowing exactly when and where we were, UTM coordinates and all, they failed to send in the black helicopters, capture us, change our identities, plant micro-chips, plant explosive charges under the HQ vehicle and fly Commercial Jets into it, (or even a private airplane) and send us to concentration camps. What is up with that? How DO you get on the "radar" anyhow? Sheeeesh. Wait a minute...didn't that one pine cone look a lot like a microphone? And that guy in the bad bear-suit...that was LAME! And those two-person Moose-Suits, they just don't look natural.
Ok, hope everyone got home and dried out. I figure I'll be unpacked by the end of July.
