Feel free to add suggestions and help a blood brother out. I will start off with my most finished and longest in work. My USGI LBV dismount kit. The mag pouches hold six HK magazines, which weigh noticibly more than USGI mags, I scored them for $25 each because ARFCOM is PMAG crazy. They appeared to have never been in the field. One grenade pouch has a USGI compass and the other grenade pouch has 2 SIG P226 magazines (I have debated placing a mag pouch on the belt itself, but figure if I have to draw my pistol...) The knife is a Cold Steel G.I. Tanto I got for $17. I re wrapped the handle with coyote 550 ($10 for 100') and placed it in a SpecOps The Sheath ($30) A Leatherman Supertool from 1995 is in the pouch on the sheath. Ranger beads on one of the shoulder straps. The canteens are $8 Nalgene specials I found on Optics Planet (they have Blackhawk written on them) The buttpack has an Otis cleaning kit and socks in it, I think there is a small emergency kit with a space blanket and fire making stuff (Bravo 1 Charlie and BSA fire steel, dryer lint) The holster is for the SIG P226, there was a Glock 17 in there. I use this rig in conjunction with a medium ALICE pack. All the belt attachments are secured with 550 and Zip Ties. My mounted kit I started a few weeks ago. The vest is the Ranger Rack Vest by Tru-Spec. I found it at Natchez Shooters Supply for ~$26, The pouches from left are a magazine pouch which holds the smaller SOG multitool, two M4 mag pouches that hold tow apiece, and a 2 mag pistol pouch which the G17 mags fit into perfectly. The Multi Cam (not the $6 single mag pouch) was $69 shipped to my door. The Glock sits in a Blackhawk SERPA mounted on a S.T.R.I.K.E. platform, there is also an INOVA light on the left strap. I used a piece of sheet aluminum to keep the bib stiff enough for the G17. I have a Nalgene 32oz. bottle and a MOLLE pouch to hold it that have not been put on yet. I want to use this rig in conjunction with a ~2,000 cubic inch hydration pack. Now those things are pricey! The STRIKE platform was ~$15 shipped, the SERPA came with the Glock. I ran a mile with this 10 pound rig and a 5 pound camelback. I had been running with just PT gear and the 15 pound rig smoked me! I have not decided on a fixed blade for this yet. I am leaning towards the SRK or the benchmade auto i picked up for $70 as I would like to keep it geared smaller. I started on this rig this week. It is being built for my Norinco M14S. Dismounted of course. Keep in mind I only had to buy the MOLLE stuff recently as I have had the LBE/LBV for YEARS, I just have not put it all together yet (go ahead and josh me) I used a USGI H harness (I bought the 3 for $6 from Sportsman's Guide, some of you might remember that deal). The mag pouches are the 3 x 30 round M16 affair that I totally stripped of grenade straps while listening to a David Allen Coe album. The hold two 20 round M14 magazines each. I removed all the buckles ala Tire Iron and used zip ties and the thinner 550 like cord for dummy cord. The knife is a Cold Steel Recon Tanto it is corded to keep it from walking the belt. I have designated Audrey (FEG HP) duty on this kit, though I have not selected a holster yet. Any ideas for a Hi Power holster? The pistol pouch is a Korean made one for the two 17 round HP magazine KRD or something like that. I will put regular quart canteens on there. For the pack I have designated the CF90 patrol pack with a 1 quart canteen secured to the MOLLE on it. I have a USGI cleaning kit in it, but may use a pocket German issue cleaning kit instead. I may go with a butt pack as well??? I need to find and put a compass and other do dads on it. I put this together last weekend, again from stuff I have had for over a year. It is my "don't scare the people while desert romping gear" Wilderness gun belt, Bianchi Holster (it fits all four of my 4" revolvers) and speed loader cases. Speed loaders, and a Victorinox Swiss Tool. The revolver is a Colt Lawman Mk III. It is an absolute BEAST. Last Edited By: Scrateshooter 06/13/09 01:39:22. Edited 1 time.

Not based upon weapons support exclusively. The one set up is for a less conspicous/low key look for a low-risk level situation where the expected threat level would be green or blue I suppose. Personal load out kits/rig's are based typically upon two considerations. Weapon support needs or situational/applicational needs or a combination of them both. Some folks build rig's around what firearms they use and may have several of them, one typically for each weapon. Or like this poster has done. Developed two main rig's for situational needs of being in a vehicle and not. The third consideration that falls under the situational/applicational needs, but is important all unto it's own, is LBE set-ups based upon your AO and it's seasonal considerations when in the field. I know when I get a new gun my setup will be diffent. But anyways I was just asking so I could understand. Primary MBR = Primary LBE load out for your go preps. The other LBE kits along with the other re-supply stuff and fluff is for cached resources with the back-up arms/weapons to fall back on when needed. Or when it's time to get ready for cold weather winter loads and supplemental gear is needed for your Primary LBE. Double Bravo Out! Posts: 3650 06/18/09 11:28:25 FORUM ADMINISTRATOR	I have two main web-gear/LBE sets, and then two packs. Multiple gear is not a bad system. By mix-matching I can set up better for the task at hand. Even if I just used one rifle, I'd still utilize two different packs. One LBE is dedicated to the CM11, only because the magazine pouches are unique to that weapon, long, skinny magazines. Really nothing else you can stuff into a 9mm carbine, sub-gun type magazine pouch. For 18 hour patrols I would use my small hydration pack. To take the CM11 on a 24 hour or longer patrol I just switch to my Ranger Joe "bug-out" pack. The CM11 LBE has no butt-pack, and just carries one canteen. This rig comfortably, and compactly carries about 250 rounds of 9X19mm. With the PT92CS in the holster, that's a good ammo loadout available to either the carbine or the pistol, should either "go down" or get lost. For really long range patrols I have another LBE with a butt-pack, two canteens, and M16 magazine pouches. I can carry any kind of ammo in the M16 pouches, from AK mags to any five shot, clipped ammo, to M1 en-bloc clips, M95 Styer en-bloc clips, shotgun shells, to 10 round SKS strippers. For short, 18 hour patrols this LBE will stand alone without a pack. With the small pack it has good mid-range capability, but with the Ranger Joe pack I could stay out and play for a long time. In conjunction with the SKS, it will carry a silly amount of ammo, 500 rounds easy, 600 if I'm really in good shape, and should I think I would need that much. Obviously, 400 is lots of ammo and is quite manageable with that rig, and anything over 400 rounds and we are talking combat patrol, and not recon. Both LBE's carry the British canvas pistol holster. My CZ52, 1911A1 and PT92CS all fit perfectly in it, so I have a choice of using any of those sidearms. When you use multiple gear like that, really the only trick to not grabbing the wrong rifle for the ammo, is to have the rifle, web gear, and pack stored together, that is all compatible. Have it good to go ahead of time, don't wait until you have one minute to act, to choose which rifle. If your bug-out rifle is a SKS, just make sure the SKS, web-gear, and pack are sitting together somewhere, and that there's a couple bras of 7.62X39mm IN the pack. For bug-out, always start out with too much ammo. You can always dump some ammo if the weight is a problem, and slowing you down. But you can't add ammo, so don't go with any less than 210 rounds. Obviously, any LBE or LBV should have some stand alone capability, and carry at least one canteen, and your compass. The PRECIOUS does MY talking!! Last Edited By: Klick 06/18/09 11:32:41. LBE pack and gear refinement is to some point a never ending process. Trigger has gone a different route which is pretty intriging (maybe he'll chime in here) on not using any mag pouches to hold ammo and sticking to bandoleers. I have half mirrored that with a few different setups and it works really well. Grab your short range or long range LBE and corrosponding pack, then grab the gun you will use and the bandoleers that hanging with said gun and you are out the door. -Sefus --- If you have to fire your weapon, you've failed.

Operator Posts: 1032 06/18/09 13:47:01 Moderator	Chime. I don't have mag pouches on my gear anymore, just bandoleers. My gear is always my gear. If I need long range capability I add my pack over my gear. I can grab any of my rifles with the corresponding bandoleers and head out the door. Very simple, and I don't spend time changing out mag pouches and what not. However, I use mostly clip fed rifles, so bandoleers are easy. However, my Saiga mags fit well in a Vietnam era M16 4 mag pouch. They were a little tall, but then I cut out some extra thread and they fit perfectly. If I carry my Mini 14 or kel tec, I use a chest platform that I would put on before my LBE. Another nice thing about bandoleers is that if you have a bunch of em, you can literally keep putting them on until you can't carry any more. When a mag pouch is full it's full. No more. But, I can throw 20 (or whatever) bandoleers on and have a ton of ammo. The main things are accessibility and comfort, then adding one thing forces you to rearrange the whole set-up. I enjoy doing it however as you could probably tell. My uncle forced me to wear this stuff for a few years so I learned what worked early on, so like Big Boar, Tire Iron and others here I can predict how most of the gear will perform in given situations like running, getting in and out of vehicles, and lying in an patrol base that the PL seem to had chosen because it had the most jagged rocks.
