In this thread we will discuss the different ready positions
and their uses.
The Taylor ready, or simply "the ready".
This is used for immediate action, when a target is imminent.

The High Ready
This is used in the field when is is impractical to carry
the rifle muzzle down, for whatever reason.

The Field Ready position.
Used for patrolling, or a multitude of any other uses.
Used mostly when in Ranger file, as muzzle does not sweep
man in front of you. Note stock is on top of arm, close to
shoulder pocket.

The Rhodesian or African carry.
Used when patrolling, mostly in wedge or combat box, as
the muzzle does not sweep man beside you.
Note stock is tucked under arm.
